Be part of the new era – Transdisciplinary Research/Team Science
Our vision for the 2014 Australian Health and Medical Research Congress (AHMRC) is to showcase “Transdisciplinary Approaches to Chronic Diseases”- a new era in “team science” which takes the successful multidisciplinary and crossfertilisation concept of the Congress to a new level.
Transdisciplinary research brings together researchers and stakeholders from distinct disciplines to maximise investment in health and medical research towards translation into policy and practice and/or to work towards solving a common scientific goal. This approach represents a constant flow between knowledge and practical action, in other words it is informed from the bench to bedside and back again. It can involve disciplines that one would not immediately recognise as having a vital role in translating medical research into health outcomes e.g. architecture, physics or enviromental science.
If you are a basic researcher, ASMR member, affiliate, prospective or past participant or simply curious we encourage you to view our YouTube presentation to discover what is Transdisciplinary Research and why you should be part of the team and join us in November 2014 at the Australian Health and Medical Resarch Congress in Melbourne.
